Research interests focus on diet-related chronic conditions, particularly in areas where life expectancy is lower than the national average. This research aims to analyze large health data sets using powerful data analytic software life R and Power BI to better understand these conditions and their impact on community health.
Open to collaboration because the best results come from working together. Actively seeking partnerships with other research institutions, medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies dedicated to diseases prevention research.
Research aims to inform both nursing practice and the broader community by giving a voice to under-researched populations that are disproportionately affected by chronic conditions at alarming rates. Additionally, seeking to provide insights that can help prevent these diseases and promote healthier lifestyles.
This initiative aims to challenge traditional nursing research paradigms by spotlighting under-researched populations, particularly in regions where access to healthy food is limited and chronic health conditions are widespread. By investigating the unique challenges faced by these communities, I seek to uncover critical insights that can inform targeted interventions and improve health outcomes. This research not only addresses the disparities in healthcare access and nutrition but also empowers nurses to advocate for systemic changes that promote health equity and enhance the well-being of vulnerable populations.
As a future PhD-prepared nurse researcher, I recognize that the statistics are stark: less than 1% of nurses obtain a PhD, with even lower rates among people of color. This disparity highlights a critical gap in our profession that needs to be addressed. It is my personal pledge to encourage, support, and advocate for future nurses, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, to pursue advanced degrees like the PhD. By fostering a more diverse and inclusive community of nurse researchers, we can enrich the field and drive meaningful change in healthcare.
